They don’t call it the Brick House for nothing. “I’ve looked at a lot of bricks and pieces of stone in my life,” laughs Christina Stoakes, recalling how much time she and her husband Harry poured into picking precisely the right materials for the renovation and extension of their house in London’s Muswell Hill. The three-storey double-fronted Edwardian mid-terrace was crumbling and hadn’t been properly inhabited in many years before the couple bought it for a knock-down price in March 2021.
