PRACTICAL MIXED MEDIA

Carole Robson

began her career as a freelance book illustrator for London and international publishers after graduating from St. Martin's School of Art. In the past few years she has divided her time between painting and writing. Her paintings celebrate the natural landscape, freely combining watercolour and mixedmedia techniques. She exhibits in London and south east England, and her work can also be seen on her website and social media platforms www.carolerobson.com

Carole's first book, Painting Expressive Landscapes was published by Search Press in 2019. While also showcasing her paintings, it is very much a practical teaching book, packed with information on watercolour and mixed-media techniques for all skill levels. Over the last few years, Carole has been working on her second book for Search Press, which will be published in spring 2024.

While nature sleeps through the winter months, we look forward to and enjoy the festive season with generous excess and not a little decadence. Outside may be cold and snowy or just rainy and dull, so we brighten up our houses with greenery of holly, ivy and mistletoe. We load fir trees with sparkly ephemera, lift a glass and celebrate with warmth, colour and lots of glitz.

In my painting life, I enjoy working inwhich allows me to add meaning and combine random images in order to develop an idea.
