CANARIES

WE HAVE come a long way, endured the trials and tribulations of the breeding season and moulted out our hopefuls. Now the month has finally arrived when we can put them to the test against birds from our peers, while we take part in and enjoy the friendship and banter of the show halls.

Having said that, I again missed the canary season opener at Stafford on October 1. My granddaughter was away at scout camp, and there was no way I could make it to Stafford and return in time to pick her up and drive home again. What can I say? Birds are great, but sometimes life
