DENIS'S USUAL PALETTE

Using a palette of six or seven colours plus alkyd white is enough. I could get by on just the primaries (red, yellow and blue) but it is convenient to have a base green (olive) and burnt sienna for speed and convenience. They are also good mix modifiers. My usual palette comprises:

● Lemon yellow
 ● Yellow ochre
 ● Cadmium yellow
 ● Burnt sienna
 ● Alizarin crimson
 ● Olive green
 ● Cobalt blue or cerulean blue
 ● Alkyd titanium white (for fast drying)
