The term Arrangement is mostly used today for two different aspects of a song: the instrumentation (as in which instrument plays what, at what pitch, and in what rhythm) and the song structure. But before we take a closer look at how a good arrangement works, in terms of instrumentation and song structure, it may help to analyze a „bad“ arrangement, or at least one that doesn‘t work properly (Image 1).
