DOROTHY Parker is primarily remembered today as the Queen Bee of the Algonquin Round Table, a sort of literary supergroup that formed during New York City’s Roaring Twenties heyday. Possessing an impeccably sharp wit and capable of legendarily withering put-downs, Parker became a symbol of coolness during the era – Cole Porter even shouted her out in a popular song lyric.
