Sketches of Miles

DAVE Chisholm seems uniquely placed to write a graphic novel about Miles Davis. Not only is he an acclaimed cartoonist – with numerous sci-fi and detective titles in his CV, as well as a graphic novel about Charlie Parker – but he’s a trained jazz trumpeter who’s been obsessed with Davis’s music since his early in high school, which made me learn the trumpet. I was constantly painting pictures of Miles in my teens. So this project really is a dream come true.”
