2024 Style Forecast

People often ask how, as editors and stylists, we spot an incoming trend. I liken it to seeing a distant object coming into focus on the horizon. You catch a glimmeron page 23. Initially, I noticed cosmetics packaging featuring beautifully untamed floral motifs. Then, a major department store collaborated with the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria to create a range of botanical-inspired sleepwear. Fashion brands took the look further with floral-printed garments. And, of course, there was the trend for actual wildflower meadows to encourage bees and the like back to gardens. It’s no coincidence that all our trends are inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the everyday, as people seek balance and simplicity in their lives.
