New hotel brands

The last 12 months have been a busy time for new hotel brands, with major groups playing catch-up following Covid-19, adjusting to a new hospitality landscape and chasing growing markets such as the extended stay sector. Here we round up brands that have launched in the last year.

IHG – GARNER

IHG Hotels and Resorts launched its latest conversion brand in August 2023, which is aimed at the midscale segment.

The group has an ambitious target of 500 Garner properties in the US over the next ten years, and 1,000 over the next 20 years, with “a goal to expand globally”.

The brand was initially ready to franchise in the US last month, with the first hotels
