After two retirements, three MX1 titles and a broken back, Dean Ferris returned to the ProMX fray this year. Wilson Todd put in a master-class in championship management to also claim his fourth MX2 crown and extend his record as Australia's winningest MX2 racer.
Yamaha rider Dean Ferris (33) had to endure a series-long battle with returning MXGP racer Jed Beaton (Honda). Jed's teammate Wilson Todd (24) had to contend with numerous broken ribs, some health issues and a fierce rivalry with KTM's Nathan Crawford before he could lift the trophy.
We yarned with both champs after the final round at Coolum to find out how they were emerged victorious.

ADB: Dean, how does it feel to be crowned a four-time champion?
DF: It's something I've thought about and strived for, for so long. It was an emotional one at Coolum and I just broke down as I went across the finish-line. I've been through five years of both hard and good times and I felt emotion for all the people who'd helped me out. It's always a team effort, but this year I'd pulled my campaign together with all the good relationships I'd built over the years.
This was my first championship since 2019 and I felt like I got the monkey off my back. It was similar
