DAY 01

Sony’s phones always look nicely familiar to long-time fans, and that feeling returns when you take the 5 V out of its box. The more angular edges to the metal frame are the most noticeable aesthetic difference from the 5 IV, but Sony staples such as the 3.5mm headphone port and camera button are both exactly where you’d expect them to be (respectively up top and on the right edge).

The screen’s trademark 21:9 aspect ratio means thisand slender phone, with bezels just big enough to squeeze in a front-facing webcam without relying on a punch-hole or notch. At 182g it’s fairly light for its size, and quite slim at 8.6mm.
