THE MAGIC HOUSE & MADE FOR KIDS
The Magic House and its satellite location, MADE for Kids, bring two experiences under one institutional umbrella. The Magic House is St. Louis’ original hands-on kids’ museum, with water/bubble/sand activities; a child-scale village with a play grocery store, veterinarian office, fishing hole, nursery, and library; physics experiments; a three-story spiral slide; an interactive government and constitution center; outdoor play and construction areas; cultural immersion; and special exhibits. A beanstalk-themed climber stretches from the lower level to the top floor. The best photo op is a classic for good reason: You can let your hair down—and then watch it go up—as you touch the electrostatically charged ball (a.k.a. the Van de Graaff generator). Baby &Me and Wonder Works exhibits are geared toward the preschool set, while the Children’s Village and Make-It Workshop are ideal for school-aged kids. MADE for Kids is a bit like the Art Studio/Make-it Workshop at The Magic House, only supersized. Grounded in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), the activities range from digital painting and a well-stocked art/craft studio
