The legendary Mersea Island rally celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and Dave Oakley was there to join in the fun... It’s hard not to get nostalgic about Colchester DVLC’s Mersea Island rally. With this year marking 30 years since the first event, I’ve been lucky enough to attend every trip across The Stroud and into the Essex backwater. By my calculation, in that time in excess of 45,000 wristbands have been handed out, more than 100 bands have performed, hundreds of customs have debuted, and more than one or two drinks have been consumed!
