BEHIND ALL OF MARK HARRISON’S PAINTINGS is an interest in light, atmosphere and colour. He doesn’t exactly paint what surrounds him, rather he is more interested in a skewed, more magical version of it. “Even my paintings of the city where I live, Brighton, have a surreal, mysterious feel to them,” he says. “ Usually through manipulating the lighting and atmosphere to something that interests me.”
