Variety in focus: opaline cinnamon

BUDGERIGARS

SIMPLY put, a combination of the cinnamon and the opaline on one bird. When I started with budgerigars there were lots of opalines and cinnamon opalines about. Now, if I were about to just keep one variety – and one colour – it would be an opaline cinnamon grey green. I just love them. We rarely see a decent example these day, even at the top shows. Cinnamons seem to have gained in popularity while the opaline has been in decline for many years. It's all about flecking.
