Ceramic Beads

CERAMICS HAVE BEEN USED TO make beads and other items for thousands of years and ceramic beads were often used as currency throughout the trade routes between Asia, India, Europe and Africa to purchase produce, animals or slaves. The earliest ceramics were pottery objects made from clay, either by itself or mixed with other materials. Traditional ceramic raw materials include clay minerals such as kaolinite, while more recent materials include aluminium oxide (alumina).

Modern ceramics, also known as advanced ceramics, include silicon and tungsten carbide.
