SPOTLIGHT ON CAMPDRAFTER SHARI KNUDSEN

Living and working on a property called ‘Coondarra’, around 90km north of Chinchilla, Shari Knudsen is wife to Peter, and mother to their two beautiful kids, 18yo Hayley, and 16yo Mac. Together they run a fairly large, family-owned and operated beef enterprise, and Shari just loves it.

‘We have roughly 6000 head of purebred Waygu, and some Wagyu-cross cattle running over five properties that are spread around Chinchilla, Wandoan and Mitchell, in Queensland. I love what we do and I love that we get to do it together as a family.’

Shari grew up in a large family, having four older sisters and one brother, and has been riding her whole life. She grew up mustering on her family’s property and attending Pony Club. Shari’s Dad taught her how to ride, and she was inspired by her grandfather, JD Burgess, a man who was two-time winner of the Warwick Gold Cup. In fact, Shari’s first horse
