AN ICON of British knitwear design, Louisa Harding has had a long and illustrious career. After studying at Brighton University, she began designing for the York shire based yarn company Rowan more than 30 years ago. She has since gone on to establish herself as an independent designer with worldwide appeal, thanks to her unabashedly feminine, graceful aesthetic.
Many knitters will be familiar with Louisa’s range of handknit yarns and patterns produced in collaboration with Knitting Fever. She also founded the companyYarntelierin 2016, offering exquisite cashmere yarns spun in Yorkshire, and has published a number of knitting books (Dover Publications, 2020), (Sixth & Spring, 2013), and (Interweave, 2007).
