THE POTENTIALS OF DIGITAL MAPPING ON DURIAN FARMS

Durian, a seasonal tropical fruit which is also known as the king of all fruits, is highly sought after. It is largely grown in Southeast Asian countries namely Thailand and Malaysia.

The demand for the fruit by China that has been increasing steadily annually over the past decade has spurred durian farmers to ambitiously expand the cultivation land from several acres to hundreds. It is not a surprise that some corporate companies with a strong financial background acquire thousands of acres of land for the purpose of durian production.

Managing a piece of land under 10 acres conventionally is a great feat, much less hundred or even thousands of acres. An acre of land would consist of 30-40 durian trees on average.
