PUB TALK

This month commenced with an offer to bike-mad great niece Jodie of a ride to Prescott Bike Festival and Hillclimb, since PUB's route passes through Evesham where she lives, and PUB is apparently sufficiently trusted by the family.

Although‘Run the Hill'entries were fully subscribed well before the event, PUB was a little disappointed upon arrival to find the paddock area less full than in previous years, with fewer classic racing and hillclimb bikes. It would later become apparent that there were quite a few‘no shows'contributing to this, enabling some lucky entrants to get in extra runs towards the day's end. It is to be hoped that this was indicative of some kind of date clash, rather than a decline, because the Prescott event must be one of the easiest for someone to take a bike to for a quick thrash. For example, although they do take safety seriously so that substantial clothing and helmet are required, these do not have to be to ACU racing standards, so most sensible rider's equipment will suffice. Both the PUB Vincent and her old Triking have been up the hill (but nothing this time).

Even the stalls wereshop, Higgins was a complete amateur working only in his spare time.
