Polar sailor Skip Novak runs highlatitude adventures, but his two Pelagic sailing yachts are no superyachts and passengers work shoulder to shoulder with die crew in tough conditions. For this reason, Novak recruits directly from a handful of round-the-world sail races. “These girls and guys have experience in exactly this kind of thing - taking amateurs and whipping them up into a team,” he says. “They have the people skills; there are a lot of good sailors.”
