Changing of the guard

The international appeal of a storied English estate set in a mature, and private natural preserve with room for outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing, has sparked a mini boom in this rarefied sector of the market.

Sales of super-prime country houses -£5 million ($6.4m) or more - hit a 15-year high in 2022, according to agents Knight Frank. Some 168 of these homes were sold in the UK - more than in any year since before the global financial crisis.
