Restore the classic download manager
Back in Issue 655 (page 42), we explained how to get Chrome’s new download manager by enabling a hidden experiment. The feature has now been added to the stable version of the browser – but not everyone is happy about the change.
Previously, when you downloaded files from the web, they were shown in a bar along the bottom of the browser window. This could sometimes become crowded with items and obscure the lower part of the page you were viewing.
