Were you a ‘Meccano Boy?’ I was and I wouldn’t mind betting that many of you who, like me, have always had an interest in matters mechanical, owe much of that interest to early experiments and models made from Meccano. What’s more, my original Meccano set (a number 7 plus lots of extras) is one of the very few childhood toys that I still possess. And yes, it does still get used on occasion.
