Learn from the best

FOR MANY, the approach of a new shooting season is often accompanied by the bashful admittance that the previous one’s wayward shots were never worked on. For others, a desire to try shooting for the first time can be tempered by nerves about where and how to start. This is where first-rate tuition comes in.

When looking for a coach, don’t be afraid to try a few until you are happy. What works brilliantly for one person may not for another. It’s a two-way relationship. You need to be able to understand one another in order to get the most out of your sessions. Find someone who you communicate well with and who will tell you what you need – not want – to hear. They should invite questions and thoughts from you on what you are doing, and should complement your style of shooting rather than just teach you to shoot the way they do. Here we profile 10 of the best female shooting instructors and coaches from around the country who will be able to help you up your game
