In recent years, more and more information has come to light on North Vietnam’s air defenses during its war with the United States. On a tactical level, this has helped the, has a somewhat puzzling title, since a firsthand account by that name has been written by Jack Broughton, a very active participant in bombing North Vietnam (or “going downtown,” as the Air Force called it). The title is a bit confusing, too, since it extends its scope to U.S. Air Force operations elsewhere in Indochina.
