HORSEPOWER HEAVEN...

One thing I’ve noticed about scooterists is that (for the most part) Lambretta owners seem far more willing to take the ‘at any cost’ approach to their custom builds than Vespa owners. Neither is right or wrong, I’m always on a tight budget myself, but I think each marque attracts its own type of owner. There are always exceptions to the rule, but that theory generally proves correct.

On this build, Phil Duck has taken both approaches; his engine has seen a good chunk of money thrown at it (if you are reading this Mrs Duck, it cost £50) and the chassis was done to the leanest budget he could manage. In fact, the complete chassis, excluding engine, cost him just £2250 in total. That figure includes the purchase of the frame, blasting, all trellis framework and fabrication, powder coating, paintwork, airbrushing, custom seat, suspension, wheel, disc brakes, electrics, the lot.

That’s not bad value, not bad at
