Fighting for a good spot around the pool has never been so competitive
When Winston Churchill uttered his famous speech about fighting them on the beaches he was, of course, talking about World War Two. Not Benidorm. Though if our former prime minister were still around, he could very well be referring to the great sunbed showdown of 2023.
Because for some insane reason this year, the age-old towels-on-sunbeds thing has been bigger and more violent than ever.
It’s been all over the papers in the UK, Spain and Germany. TV crews have been dispatched to loiter around hotel pools to catch early morning phantom towel flingers
