A BEAT FOR THE BOKS

IT’S a song that has its origins in a nightclub nearly 20 years ago, sung by a guy who’d had a few too many and regretted it the next day.

So embarrassed was he, in fact, he asked the friend who’d recorded the song to delete it. The friend didn’t do as he was told – and it’s a good thing he didn’t.

Not only has the song Sister Bethina brought joy to millions of rugby fans over the years, it’s been remixed to become the official anthem of the Springboks as they head to France to defend their title at the Rugby World Cup.
