Move columns and rows by holding down Shift
You can rearrange columns and rows in spreadsheets by cutting and pasting them, but there’s a simpler way to move your data. First, highlight the cells you’d like to move (in our screenshot below), then hold down the Shift key and move the cursor to the edge of the . When the mouse pointer turns into a multi-directional arrow symbol, hold Shift and drag the column by clicking your mouse.
