Q Over the summer, I’ve comeup with red bumps under my armpits and in other areas where I’ve shaved and they don’t seem to go away. Is there any way I can make them disappear? Sarah, Bath

A There are many causes for a red, bumpy rash under the arms. These include contact dermatitis, yeast infection, eczema, allergic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, folliculitis and milia (heat rash).

Don’t shave the area until the rash has disappeared.
