PHOTO CORNER

Your family photos

Keith Watson writes:

I regularly read Family Tree and am fascinated with the old family photos analysed in your Photo Corner. I have recently been sent copies of two old photographs from a 3rd cousin in the USA.

Neither of us know who the gentleman in the single photo (No.1) is, other than it might be one of our ancestors. Although it was apparently taken by William Punderson Glaisby (1847-1919) an early York photographer, it may have been taken over to the USA when the family branch emigrated in 1883, or could have been sent later.
