REWILDING ELEPHANTS

South Africa's National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) recently issued an expression of interest to relocate Charlie, a 42-year-old African elephant bull who has languished in Pretoria's National Zoological Garden for two decades. He was originally snatched from the wilds of Hwange National Park, aged two. SANBI envisage his relocation to a reserve, and his plight hasn't escaped the attention of Zimbabwe-born elephant conservationist Brett Mitchell.
