RealClassic TRIUMPH T150 TRIDENT

PART THE FIRST

Although I remember the last Trident – the T160 – when it was current, all the Beezumph triples were secondhand by the time I could legally ride one. My first real encounter, and the one that stuck in my mind until I scratched the itch it caused, was thanks to a ride on the back of my older and often naughtier mate, Dave. Although my derestricted BSA Brigand could top 60mph in favourable conditions, the 16 year-old me needed more power and speed.

Dave had the answer in the form of a ratty Kawasaki KH250, fitted with asome 25 miles away. He suggested I hop on the pillion of his T150V Trident, gallon can in hand, and he would take me to the local filling station to get the fuel. This day was a landmark as far as my appreciation of triples, of both the 2- and 4-stroke variety, was concerned.
