WHILE BEST KNOWN FOR HIS ROCKET BIKE, Frenchman Eric made his debut in Top Fuel Bike in 1995. Eric first ran his Rocket bike at Santa Pod in 2003, carding a slowing 6.17 / 181.26. Later that year he ran 5.96/183.18, the first 2-wheel 5-second pass outside of America. In 2013, Eric took the bike Stateside, stunning the fans and setting a world quarter-mile record of 5.21 / 264.39.

In 2022, Eric had one last goal in sight before retiring his aging bike – a 4-second pass. He came close with a 5.12 / 261 at Hockenheim, then closer still with a 5.06/263 on Saturday at Santa Pod’s European Finals. It was a case of last chance saloon for Eric the following day, and history was
