BRICS Summit brings world leaders together

Sixty-nine heads of state, including all 53 African presidents and leaders of the BRICS countries, are expected to descend upon Johannesburg this month for the 15th BRICS Summit, with over 1 500 journalists having also applied for accreditation to cover the three-day event.

The Department of International Relations and Co-operation (Dirco) expects this year’s BRICS Summit to be the biggest, and South Africa’s state of readiness to host the summit, pencilled in for August 22 to 24 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, is to be outlined tomorrow by Dirco
