Frozen revelations

August in Denver, and the city is literally melting. Cue our knights in shining armor/white aprons: Right Cream and The Yard Milkshake Bar—two new ice cream shops scoffing at tradition, armed with social media, and serving up bold, eccentric scoops of creamy treats with a dash of culinary rebellion.

David Right, the Willy Wonka of Rosedale, didn’t is home to flavors more eclectic than the crowd at Red Rocks: Pineapple ice cream intermingled with malted cornflake crunch and a whisper of almost-too-salty caramel. Glazed donut turned ice cream, peppered with strawberry shortcake crunchies and drizzled with strawberry jam swirls. And that’s just the tip of the ever-evolving ice cream menu.
