    FIKILE Mbalula, the ANC secretary general, recently made comments advocating for the removal of freight liners from the road. This reminds me of plans that were being considered years ago to launch the Durban to Cato Ridge corridor.

    The intention was to promote and encourage rail freight as a means of moving cargo between the harbour and Cato Ridge, thereby removing heavy-duty trucks from Durban’s central business district.
