Globetrotting great grandson sees Jenny Lind model made by ancestor

A 174- year -old model of pioneer LBSCR 2-2-2 Jenny Li nd has been united with the Australian great grandson of the Leeds train driver who crafted it.

The detailed model, made in about 1849 by Charles Wilson, has been part of the collection of model locomotives at Leeds Industrial Museum since at least the 1970s.

Charles’ s great grandson, Rod Wilson, made the 10,000-mile journey from his home in Caboolture, near Brisbane, to the Armley Mills museum to see his ancestor’ s handiwork
