WELCOME breathing space has been given to the UK’s heritage railway sector by the Government after an amendment to the Energy Bill – which would have seen an outright ban on domestic coal mining – was removed during a debate.
The Heritage Railway Association welcomed the removal during the June 20 committee debate of the amendment proposed in the House of Lords to ban new coal mining.
