Blow dealt to sector as council blocks UK’s last steam coal mine

A MAJOR blow to the heritage sector has been dealt by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s refusal to allow the last UK mine producing high quality lowe mission lump steam coal to continue operating until next spring.
