For want of a claw…

ZEBRA FINCHES

THEY say you shouldn't count your chickens before they are hatched, but when your chicken (or zebra finch, in my case) HAS hatched, and then grown on to show real potential – it can be hard not to start thinking about the successful show career it might have ahead of it.

In my small crop of young birds this year, a normal cock bird had really started to stand out.was separated from the flock in the stock cage and housed in his own individual cage as a bit of a safety precaution and to allow his feather condition to increase further.
