As astute readers may have noticed, adventure reports from the Cashmere 4WD club and the Fellers’ white Pajero have been at an all-time low. We (Scott, Kristen, and sticky Jack) took a quick six-month hiatus from New Zealand to visit family in America and left the rest of the 4WD crew to endure one of Christchurch’s longer, wetter winters in recent memory. While in America, we fielded lots of questions about our 4WD adventures. Going bush isn't as easy to do in California, due to factors like private land ownership, the vast size of the place, overly rugged (or overly flat) topography, and public land usually being for hikers, bikers, or horses only.
