I can’t remember the first program I ever downloaded from the web. It was 25 years ago, so probably one of the big releases of 1998 such as the instant messenger ICQ, AVG Antivirus or the audio player Winamp. Amazingly – like me – those are all still going, though Winamp recently relaunched as a disappointing paid-for streaming service.
