The summer months are a great time of the year for the artist. You have long, warm days with good sunlight, and the gardens and landscapes are full of colour. When you come to mix the yellows, reds and oranges of the flower heads, often you'll fi nd a colour near to the one needed direct from the tube, which can be slightly adjusted with another from your palette, but it is the colour and tones of greens that can be much more diffi cult to achieve. The temptation is to fi nd a green in your palette
