The weather forecast looked good. While a heatwave had been plaguing the Netherlands for several days we were on our way to Ireland where temperatures were due to be more moderate in the days to come. On our way in the airport I talked to my buddy Bert about how incomprehensible it is that such a fantastic fishing country as Ireland is so much less visited than it was years ago, while still remaining an easy-to-reach paradise for visiting anglers.
I have visited Ireland many times in the past in several locations on the south and west coast. However, much less is known about the east coast, partly due to the limited number of charter boats on this side of the Emerald Isle. But that is now changing; we are on our way to skipper Kit Dunne who operates from Wicklow, a one-hour drive south from Dublin.
