Falmouth Classics sees 206 entries
Blue skies welcomed 90 vessels from France, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Essex Coast, the Thames and the Solent to the Falmouth Classics series in June, joining local boats to make 206 entries, a tremendous number that is back to pre-COVID levels.
The event attracted a brig , ex fishing luggers, crabbers, a post boat used in Scilly, oyster dredgers, gaff and Bermudan cruisers, Bermudan rigged racers and gigs. New this year was a fleet of steam boats including steam launch from the National Maritime Museum of Cornwall. The oldest participant was the St Ives (1881), with the Gorran Haven Crabber and the Falmouth Working Boat Victory just a year younger. and are both owned by the Cornish Maritime Trust.
