Back in 2017 we featured Paul Elvin’s very clean 1966 Chrysler 300 and he mentioned his desire for a 1969 Chrysler or Dodge Charger. This ’69 Dodge Coronet put him a couple of steps closer to achieving that dream. “It started life as a 440 series Coronet,” says Paul, “with a 318cu in V8. It was imported to the UK around 2015 and had been fitted with a 440cu in V8 Six-Pack in the States that always needed fettling to run properly. It went through a couple of owners before a chap in the North bare-metalled the body and put on a new vinyl roof around 2019. Ash Rawson had done the work and it was like glass, a top-quality restoration, although the Coronet still wasn’t running right. It was put up for sale again and I sold my gold ’79 Trans Am and bought the Coronet in May 2021.
