Save ‘disappearing’ messages in WhatsApp chats
One of WhatsApp’s most useful privacy features is the ability to switch on ‘Disappearing messages’, which deletes messages from a chat automatically after 24 hours, one week or 90 days. The downside is that you may lose messages that contain important information, so WhatsApp has introduced a new option that lets you keep specific content for future reference.
To save a message in a ‘Disappearing messages’ chat, long-press it and tap the new Bookmark icon at the top of the screen (see screenshot below left). If the message was sent by someone else (rather than you), they’ll be notified you’ve kept it and can stop this happening by pressing the down-arrow icon on the message and choosing Unkeep.
