READER QUESTION
Q I need to get my 17-year-old daughter insured on the car. What does ‘fronting’ mean?
A Fronting is when a driver declares they’re the main driver of a vehicle, when it’s someone else. This form of fraud is often committed by parents aiming to get cheaper car insurance for their child. If a driver is found to be fronting it may affect any insurance claims, their policy may be cancelled and they could be prosecuted for fraud, warns Action Fraud.
